Definition: Implantation of 99.99% ultra pure medical gold at the proliferative skin layer, to stimulate the proliferation of skin matrices, which will results in skin rejuvenation, characterized as reduced fines lines & wrinkles. The idea is origin from archeology when tiny pieces of gold is discovered in almost all well preserved mummies of ancient Egyptian queens, as well as the descriptions of implanting gold pieces into the body to achieve eternal youth in ancient Egyptian literatures. 99.99% pure medical gold is biodegradable, hence will be absorbed by the human body years after implantation.
1966: A French surgeon, Dr Caux implanted gold thread of ultra high purity(99.99%)into human faces to trigger positive proliferative immune responses, characterized as the localized increase of skin matrices to encapsulate the implanted gold thread, hence achieving reduction in facial fine lines and wrinkles. But this technique is only feasible in small area rejuvenation due to technical constrains.
1992: Dr D. Orenes coiled the fine gold thread with vicryl to strengthen it, and implant it under the skin with the help of surgical needles (1 mm in diameter, as thread leader). This technique improved the rejuvenation area of Gold Thread Skin Rejuvenation tremendously. However, implanting with 1 mm surgical needles make the procedure fairly invasive, requiring local anesthesia & constant control of bleeding throughout the implantation. Due to the invasiveness, the convalescent period of the treatment is several weeks to months, with many subjects suffering allergy due to the vicryl. Despite such complications, this product & procedure is approved by CE and is generally known as “European Technique” or “Korean’s Technique”, which gains popularity among European & some Asian countries.

2000: “Koziczynski’s Method” - -- Invented by Dr Pawel W. Koziczynski(lower left picture)where the implantation of 0.1mm gold thread is achieved with 0.12 mm fine needles. The gold thread is implanted under the skin as a unique box patterns, hence is able to achieve low bleeding, slight pain implantation. However, due to the fine diameter of the gold thread, Koziczynski’s Technique can only achieve biochemical skin rejuvenation (lightening of fine lines & wrinkles) but is not helpful to sagging skin. Also, due to the low contents of gold in 0.1 mm thread, it takes fairly long to see the results (6-9 months) and shorter lasting(2-5 years);

2010: DermAureus Gold Thread Rejuvenation & Lifting Techniques -- Invented by the renowned aesthetic and anti-aging institution of Switzerland - Aeskulap Brunnen, DermAuresu is an improvised version of gold thread and its implantation technique, which not only reduce fine lines & wrinkles but also lift the sagging skin and improve the skin complexion. DermAureus technique also ensures totally painless and minimal bleeding procedure, and with higher content of bioactive gold, the result is manifested faster (3-5 months) , lasting as long as 8-15 years, making a great breakthrough in Gold Thread Skin Rejuvenation !!
